The Carpenters Union is more than 520,000 highly-skilled
men and women
throughout
the building-trades industries
in North America.

Carpenters Local Union 1598 represents 800 carpenters, joiners, lathers (drywall/interior systems) and floorlayers employed in the private and public sectors in Victoria. Workers in these crafts are encouraged to join our organization.

We strive to obtain the best wages and benefits for those we represent.

To do this, we need to provide the most productive workers in the industry. We believe that if a job is worth doing, it is worth doing right.

The first ingredient in a quality job is Skilled and Qualified Carpenters.

We accomplish this through our apprenticeship and journeymen upgrading programs.

As our industry changes we will change with it keeping abreast of the latest technological advancements and providing our contractors with the ability to stay competitive in the industry.

The United Brotherhood of Carpenters has a long proud history.  Local 1598 has been part of that history since 1883, two years after the Brotherhood began.

Welcome to our web site.

We look forward to you being part of our future.
